Meet our team

Jeff Fernandez

Cofounder & CEO

Jeff oversees sales, investor relations, and the building of Grovo’s award-winning culture. In addition, he directs thought leadership and manages and mentors the company's Leadership team.

Prior to founding Grovo in 2010, Jeff served as product manager at Clickable (acquired by Syncapse). There, he worked on the company’s flagship product, helped integrate Facebook advertising, and launched the American Express OPEN partnership. From 2006 until 2009, he led business development and sales for Doostang (acquired by Universum Global), an online career networking community.

Originally from Dumont, N.J., Jeff graduated with highest honors from Harvard College, where he penned his thesis on maximizing human performance. He is an All-State punter and placekicker, and played semi-pro football for the New York Rebels during the 2008 season.

Jeff has spoken at events including TEDx, SXSW, Internet Week and ASU+GSV and has contributed to Inc, Fast Company, Forbes and more. He currently lives in New York City with his wife Cori.

Nick Narodny


Nick is a member of Grovo's product and design team.

Before Grovo, Nick worked at Clickable (acquired by Syncapse), where he met and worked with Jeff on a variety of projects. Prior to his work in AdTech, Nick was an aerospace and defense investment banker at Jefferies Quarterdeck, where he worked on financings and acquisitions with L3, Northrop Grumman, Boeing and SpaceX.

Nick grew up in San Anselmo, California. He graduated from Boston College cum laude and is passionate about the 49ers, his dog Walter, and helping veterans. Ever the entrepreneur and education proponent, Nick founded a computer training company in 7th grade called “Wise Well Computer Services.” His proudest accomplishments are founding Grovo and convincing his wife Neva to marry him.

Surag Mungekar

Cofounder & Solutions Architect

Otherwise known as "Seal Team Surag," Surag works cross-functionally on Grovo's toughest technical challenges.

Before Grovo, Surag worked as a Senior Engineer at Nuance Communications, working with several large enterprises and leading development teams across the country to build voice, web, and desktop software solutions. Prior to this, Surag worked as an engineer at Viecore, a consulting and systems integration firm that was acquired by Nuance Communications.

Originally from Dumont, NJ, Surag graduated from Columbia University with a BS in Computer Engineering.

Joris Luijke

Vice President of People

Joris is responsible for the onboarding, recruitment and retention of Grovo employees.

Recognized as one of the most progressive forces in HR, he acts as a business partner to all functional areas of the company while maintaining Grovo’s unique culture and crafting the company’s growth strategy. Joris joined Grovo from Squarespace, where he served as Vice President of People for two years. Previously, Joris helped Atlassian rapidly scale from 130 employees to 700 employees as its Vice President of People. Earlier in his career, he worked as a General Manager in HR consulting firm Chandler Macleod and the Australian Department of Employment.

Joris holds a Masters Degree in Human Resources from Tilburg University in the Netherlands. He lives in New York City with his wife Xi Liu.

Maksim Ovsyannikov

Vice President of Product

Maksim is Grovo's Vice President of Product. His responsibilities include product management, product strategy and product design.

Maksim brings tremendous passion for building modern talent management software to Grovo, with a belief that learning technology has the power to transform the way we work. Among many of his past contributions, Maksim's 17 years of experience building next generation of enterprise software spans companies like Zendesk, Salesforce and Totango.

Glenda Luft Felden

Vice President of Communications

Glenda champions Grovo’s brand, reputation, and public relations initiatives.

Previously, she served as Head of Communications at Skillshare, an online learning community for creators. Her professional experience includes defining the brand and marketing strategy as Director of Marketing & Communications at Charitybuzz and leading strategic PR programs for lifestyle and tech brands at Middleberg Communications and 5WPR. As Cofounder of the Social Good For Profit Meetup, Glenda produces monthly events that bring together some of the biggest innovators in social entrepreneurship.

Glenda graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BS in Public Relations from the University of Florida and lives on the Upper West Side with her husband Michael and daughter Maya.

Patrick Dillon

Vice President of Sales

Patrick is an experienced and disciplined sales professional overseeing Grovo’s sales organization. He is responsible for driving global revenue and sales strategy, while acting as a cross-functional member of the executive team.

With a wide range of experience in sales through multiple senior positions, Patrick provides a well-versed knowledge on strategic planning, financial modeling, sales forecasting, territory and account planning, marketing and partner development. Prior to joining Grovo, Patrick was the Vice President of International Sales at Spredfast, running EMEA and APAC sales out of the London office. He previously worked at A. T. Kearney, Inc., Dell, Convio, and Bazaarvoice UK.

Patrick graduated with a BS in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Northwestern University and with a MBA from Harvard Business School. Patrick lives in Ardsley, NY with his wife and four children.

Gray Hoffman

Vice President of Business Operations

Gray works cross-functionally to develop and execute on Grovo's strategic direction.

As one of Grovo’s earliest hires, Gray has helped manage and build the Sales, Client Services, Sales Operations, Talent, and Business Development teams. His leadership was instrumental in growing the company from 40 to 170 employees in a single year. Prior to Grovo, Gray was a top-ranked analyst at McKinsey & Company.

With a passion for financial inclusion, Gray graduated with a BS in Economics focused in International Development from Davidson College. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Maddie.

Matt Dorsey

Vice President of Finance

Matt oversees finance and accounting operations at Grovo. He leads the design and implementation of financial planning, forecasting and reporting activities, defines investment strategies, and spearheads the growth of the finance organization.

Prior to joining Grovo, Matt was a member of the finance team at Uber, where he was responsible for driving improvements in areas of profitability, growth, and financial & operational controls. Prior to Uber, Matt held positions in principal investing, investment banking and economic consulting.

Matt graduated with a BS in Economics from Duke University and with a MBA from Columbia Business School. He lives in NYC with his wife and two dogs.

Alex Khurgin

Director of Learning Innovation

A leader in the microlearning movement, Alex has played an integral role in developing Grovo's methodology, using science and psychology to engineer a learning experience for 21st century employees.

He is also responsible for developing an internal learning culture at Grovo by facilitating a program for professional development and self-directed learning for all employees.

Prior to Grovo, Alex developed next generation educational content at leading edtech company Knewton. Alex is among the industry’s most passionate proponents of innovative enterprise learning and has presented his insights at conferences such as DevLearn, ATD, and CLO Innovators. Alex graduated with a BA in Philosophy from Amherst College and lives in New York City.

Michael Jacobson

Senior Director of Legal Affairs

Michael leads the legal team at Grovo and works cross-functionally with our Sales, Finance, Product, Content, and Talent teams to ensure that Grovo continues to be one of New York's fastest growing startups and best places to work.

Prior to joining Grovo, Michael worked as a corporate attorney at Baker Hostetler, as an attorney at Axiom where he worked with an international investment bank, and as outside counsel to a number of pre- and post-venture funding startups.

Michael graduated with a BA in Political Science from Duke University and with a JD from the University of Michigan Law School. He lives in Brooklyn with his wife Sarah and son Asher.
