Recognize Where Your Personal Brand Is Now

5 min

The first step to designing your personal brand is understanding what your brand looks like now.

Here are four questions you can ask to better understand what your brand looks like today.

Ask yourself:

1. What are your values and passions?
2. What's your story?
3. What do you want to be known for?
4. How do people see you now?

1. What are your values and passions?

Think about the things that energize and ignite you. This will help you understand why you do the things you do.

2. What's your story?

Write down some details about your background that have impacted your life. Think about the journey of how you got to your current job.

3. How do people see you now?

Ask people close to you to describe how they see you. What do they see as your strengths and weaknesses? What makes you stand out?

4. What do you want to be known for?

Think about what traits or industry you want people to associate with you. Do you want to be known for your compassion-based coaching methods or your expertise in marketing solutions?

Be honest about where you are now.

This may be different from where you want to be, and that's okay! Being honest about where you're starting from is the first step.

Here is a worksheet to help you begin analyzing your current personal brand.
