In partnership with Grovo, Capital One has developed a free and open digital literacy program. This course gives everyone access to the digital skills needed for today's middle-skill roles — jobs that don't require a bachelor's degree, but pay above the national living wage.
The digital skills gap is the divide between the digital skills needed for a job, and the skills employees possess.
Capital One and Burning Glass Technologies recently conducted a nationwide analysis of the digital skills gap in the middle-skill job market — which represents 39% of all U.S. jobs. Among the key findings:
Over 7 in 10 of these jobs require digital skills
Digitally-intensive jobs have grown more than twice as fast as other jobs.
Digitally-intensive jobs pay average wages 18% higher than other jobs.
