To get started using Google Slides, first you'll have to create a new presentation.

Go to docs.google.com/presentation. In the bottom right hand corner is a red "+" button.

Click on it, and a new presentation will open automatically, but first you'll have to choose a theme.

Select a theme from the dialog box by clicking on it.

You'll notice Google has a thorough collection of slides to choose from, varying from sleek and simple, to colorful and playful.

When you've made your selection, click "OK." Google Slides will apply the theme automatically, and you can begin working on your presentation.

It's important to determine your slide size, since it will dictate how much information you can fit on each one.

To adjust your slide size, go to the "File" menu and click "Page setup." Select from one of the default slide dimensions in the drop-down menu-- "Standard 4:3," "Widescreen 16:9," or "Widescreen 16:10"-- or click "Custom" and enter your own dimensions.

When you're ready, click "OK."
