One of the easiest ways to communicate with your friends on Facebook is by posting to their timeline.

To navigate to a friend's timeline, type their name into the search bar at the top and select it from the suggestions below.

You can also click a name anywhere on Facebook to navigate to that user's profile.

Click into the "Write something..." box and type your message.

You can also use the buttons below to add people, specify a date and location, add a photo, and say what you're doing just like you would with a normal status.

Note that when you post to a timeline, all the user's friends will be able to see your message.

When you're ready, click "Post." Your friend and any friend you added to the post will receive a notification.
