Today Facebook announced the first major redesign of their News Feed feature since its introduction in 2006, and they're calling it "The best personalized newspaper in the world."
People have been looking for a way to control what they see in their News Feeds, and Facebook's updated News Feed is designed to meet that demand. Users can sort their upgraded feeds to see just photos, stories from people and brands they follow, stories about just their close friends, and more.
In addition, the newly redesigned experience is more visual, using more space on the page for each image and highlighting your friends' images alongside content they've shared.
There are similar News Feed upgrades for your mobile device as well. The new experience will be more consistent across different platforms, which is good news since more and more people are switching to using their phones as their primary Facebook devices.
