Whereas copying and pasting cells moves both formatting and cell data, Paint Format allows you to quickly apply formatting options from one cell to another without changing the cell's contents.

Highlight the cell with the formatting you want to copy, click the paint roller icon in the format bar, then select the cells you want to apply this formatting to.

The new cells you highlight will change to reflect the formatting of the first cell you selected.

Note that using the Paint Format feature copies visual formatting options, such as font size, bold and italics, as well as conditional formatting, but does not copy any formulas a cell contains.
