You can use Google Analytics Intelligence Events to get automatic notifications to significant changes in your website's visitors and traffic.

Intelligence events alert you to the success of particular adjustments you've made to a website or the effects of a new marketing strategy.

To view Intelligence Events, expand the Intelligence Events menu to the left, and then click "Overview." You'll see a list of all the automatic events, sorted by the importance of the statistical anomaly.

Click the "Details" link to explore an event further, then "Go to report" to see the full details of this dimension.

If you have a lot of alerts or are looking at a wide time frame, click the sections below "Overview" to the left to view more details on monthly, weekly or daily events.

Click any data point on the bar graph to see that day's events below.

Then, click the Graph icon to see the data in the graph above.
