Google Analytics goals connect the activity on your website to your bottom line.

Set goals, then assign a dollar value to those goals to see which parts of your site, specific features on your site, or step-by-step actions are giving you the greatest ROI.

Create new goals and goal sets within a View of a Google Analytics web property.

Note that goals are specific to each profile and do not affect other profiles on that web property.

Each profile is allowed a maximum of 20 goals broken down into four sets.

In creating goals, make sure you group similar goals into goal sets.

Indicate a dollar value for each goal.

Conversions occur when visitors reach those goals.

Then, you can track how features of your site are performing, or even compare goal sets to maximize your ROI.
