Your Facebook messages include email-like messages sent to you from other Facebook users, as well as any chats you've had with your Facebook friends. When you get new messages, you'll see a red notification icon above the messages icon to the upper left of any Facebook page. To manage your messages, click the messages icon, then click "See all." All of the messages and chats that you've sent and received are listed to the left. Conversations with new messages will appear in gray with the number of new messages under the time the last message was sent. Click an inbox entry to view the conversation down the center of the page. When you open new messages, they'll be marked as read. If you want to keep them marked as unread, mouse over the inbox entry to the left and click the circle icon. You can archive messages, which removes them from the list (but doesn't delete them permanently) by clicking the "X." Access archived messages from the "More" dropdown by clicking "Archived." To delete a message, open it, then click "Actions" and select "Delete Messages." Click the individual messages in the conversation that you want to delete, then select "Delete" at the bottom right. Note that if you don't choose to delete all the messages, this will not remove the entire conversation - to do this, you must select "Delete Conversation" from the "Actions" dropdown. You can forward messages to other people by selecting "Actions," then "Forward Messages," checking the box next to the messages you want to forward and selecting "Forward." Type the recipient's name or email, add a message if you'd like and click "Send."
