No one wants to spend twenty minutes trying to decipher a long email. Do people a favor by making your emails as easy to read as possible. The number one rule for emails is brevity.Stay on point. If you have several different projects to discuss or questions to ask, send separate emails, with the project or question as the subject of each. Place the highest priority information at the top of the email. If your email requires an immediate response, say so clearly at the beginning of the message. Respect other people’s time and don’t use email to ask questions that could be easily answered by an internet search or other research. Try not to send emails containing large blocks of text. Use paragraph breaks and bullet points to add space and clarity for ease of reading. End emails with a polite sign-off.If you would like a response, close with something like “I appreciate your help and look forward to your response.”
